Black Spinel is one of the precious stones, right along side sapphires, rubies, emeralds, but it's a little less known. It's hardness makes it ideal for daily wear, and as you can see, there is a sheen to Spinel that other black stones don't have without a waxing agent being added. Also, spinel won't take on a worn look over time because of it's hardness.
One 8mm black Spinel heart shaped gem is bezel set in my matte finished setting made in tarnish free sterling.
